Operation History in the Storeroom App: Mobile tracking of inventory transactions explained

Storeroom App Operation History fuctionalities

Operation History is a new feature in the Storeroom App that enables to review inventory transactions directly from your mobile device. It provides a clear, session-based overview of inventory activity, helping teams understand what happened, when it happened, and where — without the need to access a web portal from a desktop.

The feature is currently available on iOS, with Android support coming very soon.

What is Operation History in the Storeroom App?

Operation History is a mobile view that shows inventory transactions grouped into logical sessions. Instead of listing transactions as separate rows, the app presents related actions in a single timeline, giving a clearer picture of inventory operations.

Each session is automatically timestamped and linked to a specific location, allowing users to trace inventory changes by date and time with full context.

Who can see operation history?

Operation History follows the existing role-based permission model.

Admins can view all operation history they have access to across locations. Regular users only see inventory history related to their own account and actions. This ensures transparency while keeping data access controlled and relevant.

Which inventory operations are shown?

Operation History includes all key warehouse inventory actions performed in the Storeroom App. These include takeouts, restocks, returns, write-offs, and inventory counts.

All operations are visible directly inside the mobile app, making inventory review faster and more practical during daily work.

How can you filter inventory transaction history?

To help admins find answers quickly, Operation History includes built-in filtering options. Inventory activity can be filtered by:

  • date range
  • user
  • location
  • operation type

This makes it easy to investigate specific events, review activity from a certain shift, or confirm who performed an action and when.

Do you need the web portal to review inventory history?

No. One of the main advantages of Operation History is that urgent checks no longer require logging into the web portal.

When questions arise on the shop floor or in the storeroom, all essential transaction history is available directly in the Storeroom App. This allows for quick confirmations and faster issue resolution during daily operations.

Why mobile inventory history matters?

Having inventory transaction history available on mobile devices reduces delays, improves accountability, and helps teams make faster decisions. By grouping actions into clear sessions and making them searchable in the app, Operation History turns raw inventory data into usable operational insight.
