The weight-sensing vending machine, Gravity Cabinet, just became more precise than ever. We’ve reduced the minimum supported weight from 5 grams to 2 grams, enabling accurate real-time tracking of much smaller components. This upgrade is especially valuable for items like washers, clips, and fuses that previously fell below the automatic detection threshold.
More consistent performance for tiny items
In our internal tests, the Gravity Cabinet delivered reliable results even with items weighing from 1.5 to 1.9 grams. Performance varied slightly based on the environment and item consistency. Although airflow, vibration, or item-batch differences may still cause slight variations, the system handles these situations smoothly.
Automatic correction and weight optimisation
The weight-sensing Gravity Cabinet supports 2-gram items on the 16-bin shelf. We’ve optimised this shelf for higher sensitivity when handling lightweight components. If there are weight differences between batches, users can adjust the delivered quantities during restocking directly in the cabinet UI. After the adjustment, Gravity automatically recalculates the average item weight to improve future accuracy. This refinement improves accuracy, ensuring the system tracks even the smallest components with exceptional precision and consistency.
Gravity now supports a broader range of inventory items. It continues to deliver the same reliability and stability. Customers can confidently include their lightest materials in the system and extend automation to parts that previously required manual oversight.
