Gravity Cabinet Now Features Physical Door Buttons for Faster and Easier Use

The Gravity Cabinet just took another step forward in speed and usability. Our newest update, inspired by user input, makes everyday access quicker, smoother, and more intuitive — all while keeping the same level of control and security you expect.

The newest version of Gravity Cabinet features physical door buttons that enable users to access what they need in seconds, while maintaining full control in the hands of administrators. From the first use, workflows feel lighter and faster, thanks to a feature designed and refined with real-world use in mind.

Why we added physical buttons

Our mission was clear: speed up everyday workflows for end-users. Until now, interactions have gone through the smart tablet: users log in, choose which doors to open, and then collect their items. It worked well, but for everyday withdrawals, it meant extra steps — and logging in again if another door needed to be opened.

Our newest update changes that. It enables daily access to be quicker, smoother, and more intuitive, while still providing administrators full control. Now, users can get what they need in seconds, without logging into the tablet for everyday tasks, while administrators keep complete control over permissions. It’s a faster, smoother experience that fits perfectly with the Gravity Cabinet’s design philosophy of effortless stock access.

The result is a near-instant access process:

  1. Show your access tag
  2. Press the button for the door you want (upper or lower)
  3. Take your items and close the door
Identifying the user with the tag on the Gravity Cabinet.

That’s it — no tablet login needed for daily operations. Most users now enjoy a smoother, almost instant experience. The smart tablet is still available when needed for restocking, stock corrections, or entering additional data like work order numbers — but for quick retrieval, the new button flow is all you need.

More than speed — new possibilities

Physical buttons didn’t just make access faster; they also unlocked new ways to work:

  • Open more doors in the same session – no repeated logins, just press the next button.
  • Connect multiple cabinets – log in once, then open any authorised cabinet with a button press. Admins can control exactly which doors each user can access.
  • Clear LED feedback – green means “ready to open”, red means “already open”.

The enduring value of physical buttons

Physical buttons are fast, intuitive, and reliable — perfectly matching the Gravity Cabinet’s philosophy of effortless stock access with maximum control. They can even lower costs: in “Take and leave” mode, end-users only need their access tag and the buttons, while admins manage settings and restocking directly from a smartphone. No smart tablet required.

The Gravity Cabinet has always been about combining speed, simplicity, and control. Physical buttons are the latest step in that journey — and they came directly from customer feedback.
